Heather Hogan was born and raised in rural Georgia, and now spends her days writing from her home in New York City, with her wife and their clowder of rescue cats. Her writing can be found at the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Self, The Sick Times, Autostraddle, and more. Her essay, “The Soft Butch That Couldn’t (Or: I Got COVID-19 and Never Got Better),” was selected for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's 2021 Best American Science and Nature Writing. She was also a contributor to The Long Covid Survival Guide and is a member of The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.

She has also scripted and hosted events for HBO.
